Why do peace and happiness elude us? Why are people so divided?
According to author Cate Montana, it’s happening because as a nation—as an entire species—we’ve forgotten who we really are. We have confused “self” with ego—the mental program (like a computer code) that gives us the illusion of individuality—an utterly false “reality” similar to what’s presented in the movie The Matrix.
The age-old struggle between love (exemplified by the open mind/open hand) and the fear-driven ego (the closed-mind/closed fist) can never be resolved until we understand who we really are. In this conversation Sandie and Cate Montana discuss what the ego is, how it’s born, how it thinks, and how the ego can be managed and expanded into what is known as transpersonal consciousness—the bridge consciousness between limited personal ego and the transcendent state of egoless enlightenment—a state of mind more aligned with the powerful I AM presence that is the true generator of peace, happiness and unification within.
Cate will also share some basic processes that will help listeners begin to move into transpersonal awareness.
Cate Montana is the author of The E Word: Ego, Enlightenment & Other Essentials (Atria) and Unearthing Venus: My Search for the Woman Within. A dauntless explorer of inner and outer worlds, and the former editor of the Bleeping Herald newsletter for the hit indie movie What the Bleep Do We Know!? Cate has worked with plant medicines with shamans in the Amazon jungles of Peru, the Andes in Ecuador and the deserts of New Mexico, studied yoga in India, explored ancient South African ruins on horseback, hiked solo through England’s sacred sites, and much more. She has a master’s degree in psychology and writes and teaches about the ego, transpersonal and transcendent consciousness and quantum physics. She also writes for the UK magazine What Doctors Don’t Tell You and blogs for The Huffington Post. She lives in the Pacific Northwest.

Welcome to my world! I am so glad you stopped by and felt comfortable enough to join the conversation. I hope you will come back often - the weather is always sunny here (mostly), and the views are... well, whatever your reality makes of them.
