Midlife is Not a Crisis: How Astrology Can Help You Thrive in the Second Half of Life with Virginia Bell

Join us Thursday, July 27, at 4:00PM-PST/7PM-EST on OMTimes Radio, for What is Going OM when Sandie's guest will be Virginia Bell.

Virginia Bell
Growing up, many of us expected to work till we were about 65, and then retire to hopefully (and possibly quietly) enjoy the rest of our old age. But along the way, things changed. Today, many people are not only eschewing retirement and happily enjoying their second and third acts, some are even embarking on new careers in their 80s and beyond.

According to astrologer, Virgina Bell, we are aging differently from the way we did in the past―we are not only living longer, we are also staying healthy and vital for longer. What’s more, at the age of sixty, If we live to be sixty, a whole other realm of consciousness opens up to us. From that point on, our hearts, souls and minds have the opportunity to enter realms that are inaccessible to those who have not lived long enough to go there.

In her book Midlife Is Not a Crisis, Bell reveals how we can use astrology to empower us to live more fully, joyfully and happily in the second half of our life. Says Bell, “The generational cycles we all share at certain ages – from the (often dreaded) Saturn Return which occurs at around 29 and Midlife to the Uranus Return which occurs around the age of 84 – are the great crossroads of life. Strung together, these cycles offer a road map to life’s most challenging and rewarding passages, as well as opportunities for creative change. Moreover, the key to successfully navigating each phase of our second half of life journey can be found in understanding the planet that rules each cycle.

This week Virginia Bell joins Sandie to discuss how we can use astrology to find renewal of purpose and unique opportunities for self discovery at every age.

Virginia Bell started out working in the film business; first as an actress and then a story editor and screenwriter. She owned one of the first natural foods restaurants in NYC. Since the 1990’s she has been a full-time astrologer and writer. She is based in New York City and currently writes a horoscope column and celebrity profiles for the CBS magazine, Watch! is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post and has written astrology columns for magazines and websites such as Refinery29, TV Guide, US Weekly and Die Welt (the German publication). She is the author is Midlife Is Not A Crisis: Using Astrology to Thrive in the Second Half of Life.

The Global Transition: What We Have to Look Forward to with Chris Attwood

Join  me Thursday, July 13th, at 4:00PM-PST/7PM-EST on OMTimes Radio, for What is Going OM when I'll be discussing The Global Transition: What We Have to Look Forward To with Chris Attwood

We are living in an era of unprecedented change with a number of major crises converging…. From climate change, to economic and political instability to the erosion of entire communities & displacement of over 6 million people due to violence and religious wars, the world today’s children are being raised in bears little resemblance to the world that we and our parents grew up in, and it seems that every day the media regales us with more shocking evidence of this. Is it any wonder that many are feeling as if they no longer have any control over their future?
But is that true? What if the turmoil and upheaval that many are perceiving as global annihilation is instead evidence of a global awakening?  How might this perspective change the way you move through this transition?
In this week’s program, NY Times bestselling author and expert in the field of consciousness, Chris Attwood, joins Sandie to discuss why he believes we're entering a time of unprecedented opportunity, even as events seem to point to a world gone awry, and what this transition means for us.  Topics include:
  • The global transition – what it’s about and what it's leading to
  • Why we need to adopt the feminine method of decision-making
  • How we can adapt to the changes this transition is bringing
  • Why finding our passion is key to creating a life and a world worth looking forward to
  • The clues from both ancient and modern wisdom that reveal what's required to not only survive these times, but to thrive in them. And more…

CHRIS ATTWOOD is co-author of the New York Times bestsellers, The Passion Test and Your Hidden Riches. With his business partner and ex-wife, Janet Bray Attwood, he has
built a global brand with almost 2,000 Passion Test facilitators in more than 60 countries.

Over the past 30 years, Mr. Attwood has been CEO or senior executive of fifteen companies. After resigning as President of a government securities dealer in the early 1980s, Chris took ten years for his own inner development, spending 8-10 hours a day in deep meditation. During this time, he extensively studied the Vedic literature of India and the functioning of human consciousness.

Over the past fifteen years Chris has become one of the leading figures in the transformational industry, having put together some of the industry's major strategic alliances, including his key role in arranging 70% of the interviews for the book and movie, The Secret. Chris is a founding member of the Transformational Leadership Council created by Jack Canfield.
