IN CASE YOU MISSED IT... REDEFINING OUR ATTITUDES TO LOVE AND SEX WITH DR. KELLY NEFF

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

After the last few years of struggle, anger, and purging prompted by the #MeToo movement, the time has come, says Dr. Kelly Neff, for a new narrative that embraces sexual diversity, freedom and autonomy. Redefining sex and love as a constructive, harmonizing experience is a crucial part of how we move forward as a human collective.

Dr. Kelly Neff joins Sandie this week to talk about her new book Sex Positive: Redefining our Attitudes to Love and Sex which epitomizes her desire to empower sexual freedom, inspire healing, and improve people’s relationships by fusing cutting-edge scientific findings with eastern philosophies and her own deeply personal insights.  www.sexpositivebook.com

Topics include:

  • Why millennials and Gen "Z" are rejecting traditional stereotypes and embracing technology
  • How the digital age is changing the way people view sex and relationships
  • Evolving attitudes about identity and sexuality as a "spiritual" experience
  • Why today's adults are having less sex than they did 30 years ago
  • What does the new revolution about sex teach us about the meaning of love?
  • How to build a sex-positive relationship
  • What can the ancient sexual wisdom traditions teach us about living sex positive lives right now?  And more...

DR. KELLY NEFFis a social psychologist, author, professor, futurist and talk-radio personality who has electrified the transformational media world with her unique focus on the intersection of psychology, consciousness, and human sexuality.  An academically trained research psychologist, she spent almost a decade teaching thousands of people in her online and in-person psychology of human sexuality courses at Saddleback College, CA.

SACRED PLEASURE: UNFOLDING OUR HIGHER SELVES THROUGH PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL UNION WITH RIANE EISLER

join us tonight at 4pm PT/7pm ET

…“Our deepest and most powerful human yearning is for connection – for sex, for love, for all that gives pleasure and meaning to our lives.  Yet sexual violence is commonplace and the ‘war of the sexes’ continues to perpetuate misunderstanding and pain.  Why does this struggle persist?  What can we do to reclaim our innate power to give and receive pleasure and to find meaning in our lives.”

That short passage was taken from a book that was published 24 years ago, a book which I only recently got to read, but which - as has become evident over the past few years - seems to have been growing more relevant with each passing year…

The book is Sacred Pleasure: Sex, Myth, and the Politics of the Body… N ew Paths to Power and Love… by cultural historian, social systems scientist, and best selling author of The Chalice and the Blade, Dr. Riane Eisler… who joins me tonight to discuss:

* The truths about sex that have been swept under the rug of religious dogma and scientific jargon
* The sexual myths that have corrupted male/female relationships over the millennia
* How & why domination & violence have been eroticized and even sanctified
* How sexuality is constructed differently in a partnership or dominator society…
And, most important of all…
*How we can construct a society in which the unfolding of our higher selves through physical and spiritual union can be socially supported instead of distorted and repressed.

RIANE EISLER is a social systems scientist, cultural historian, and attorney whose research, writing, and speaking has transformed the lives of people worldwide. She is President of the Center for Partnership Studies (CPS) and Editor-in-Chief of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Partnership Studies. A refugee from Nazi Europe as a child, she has addressed the UN General Assembly, the US Department of State and Congressional Briefings, and authored over 500 articles published in outlets including The Christian Science Monitor,Human Rights Quarterly, and International Journal of Women's Studies. Her book The Chalice and The Blade: Our History, Our Future is an international bestseller.
