According to this week’s guest, scientist, author, and Mayan Calendar expert, Carl Johan Callaman, the Egyptian pyramids have finally - after five thousand years - yielded their secrets and explain to us how civilization came about. Their "secrets", that were probably never meant to be secrets, are about ourselves and the origin of the human mind.
In his paradigm breaking new book Dr Calleman provides evidence that the ancient Egyptians and Sumerians 5,000 years ago "downloaded" a new mind frame from which not only the rise, but also the entire continued evolution, of civilization may be understood. A startling consequence of this work is that the reductionist view that the mind is created by the brain does not hold true. For the first time a reason is provided as to why there is a difference between the cultures of the East and of the West: our mental states are always connected to the earth. Carl Johan Calleman is a scientist and philosopher, born in Stockholm, Sweden, who is recognized as the main proponent of the idea that the Mayan calendar describes the evolution of consciousness and the resulting inner changes in human beings. He has collaborated with Mayan elders and has helped spread their own message. His three first books inspired by the Mayan calendar have been translated to a total of fourteen languages and he has lectured worldwide about them.
His background is in the hard sciences, where he has a PhD in Physical Biology from the University of Stockholm. Articles he has written have been quoted more than 1500 times in the scientific literature proper and as a cancer researcher he has among many other places been invited to lecture at MIT, Cornell and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine.
His latest book, The Global Mind and the Rise of Civilization is the first volume in The Paradigm Shift Trilogy.
